Utah is a territory located in the western United States. It borders the states of Nevada and Arizona and the territories of Colorado, Idaho, and Wyoming. Utah did not gain statehood until 1896, 27 years after the joining of the Central Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads. The site of joining of the rails occurred at Promontory Summit in 1869, located in northern Utah.[1]
