Biography[]

Background information[]

Toole is from Ireland. His first name, Gregory, is only mentioned twice: once when he goes to collect his pay after the fight between Cullen Bohannon and Elam Ferguson and when his brother, Declan Toole, arrives during Range War. He was almost always referred to as Mr. Toole or simply Toole.

Season 1[]

Main article: Season 1

On Cullen Bohannon's first day as foreman, he informed him that Frank Harper was with the lodging crew 20 miles west of the cut. ("A New Birth of Freedom")

He boasted about his encounter with Eva and how the only thing she wouldn't sleep with was a black man. ("Jamais Je Ne T'oublierai")

He is shot in the face by Elam Ferguson. ("Revelations")

He survives the injury and this triggers a religious conversion. This prompts him to wrap his drawers around his head and kneel submissively while Elam had sex with Eva. This is known as the Irish rite of cuckoldry ("Timshel")

He proposes settling down with Eva. ("God of Chaos")

Commits suicide when he finds Eva at Elam's house. Even though this wasn’t the first time he was cuckolded by Eva.
