- Main article: Season 3
Jeb met Cullen Bohannon when he arrived to discuss the path of the railroad. Jeb seemed dissatisfied with his life out on the frontier telling his father there was nothing in Nebraska but Lamanites (Indians). When someone on the Hatch homestead shot Railroad Police Chief Dick Barlow, Jeb became the scapegoat so that his father would be spared. Jeb pled with his father but he would not take the blame from Jeb's shoulders. Bohannon, faced with witnesses that indicated Jeb's guilt, was forced to hang Jeb on the Hatch property.
