With Season 4 released on Netflix and Season 5 just around the corner, I thought it would be a good time to start fleshing out our dear little Wiki. I've added the Talk button to each page. Talk pages are not new to our Wiki, as we have used them for episodes to list what needed to be done. I will add to do lists to each character as well, so that we might better edit our Wiki. This does not limit what can be done, but rather is a guide to what needs to be done.

Hell on Wheels is back and that means there will be lots of new pages added and old pages updated.
We really need a style guide, but I don't want to just lord over things and implement rules. I want to hear from the community and make it something we all work on, just like the wiki. If you have ideas about what we should put in the style guide, put your ideas on the new forum post, Ideas for Style Guide.
We also have a glut of possibly unnecessary pages such as pages for locations or characters mentioned in passing but never seen on the show. Again, I'm not going to just delete things. If you come across a page that you think is unnecessary for the wiki, mark it with at the top of the page when in source mode. If you see the deletion h…Read more >
Season 3 is finally upon us!!
Here's what the critics said about the season premiere:
"The history behind the story is tremendous--you feel its pulse."
–Tom Gliatto (People Weekly)
"What this well-written series does not need is a character [Louise Ellison (Jennifer Ferrin), a NYC reporter] whose only job seems to be moving the story along with expository dialogue in the guise of interviews."
–Linda Stasi (New York Post)
"With his one-note revenge plot behind him, Bohannon teams up with Ferguson to work on a new railroading venture, and thankfully their opponents are much more interesting this time around."
–Ray Rahman (Entertainment Weekly)
"A prickly alliance founded on mutual respect and constantly threatened by both history and present, unpleasa…

The final episode of season 2 was shot in a way that could be spun as a dream, a distant memory, or something that happened the previous day.
The beginning of the episode has Cullen talking to some officers about what had happened - past-tense.
We are led to believe that all the events of the finale have already happened, Cullen has survived, and he is now describing them as facts while being questioned "on the record."
My thoughts are that he is feeding the officers a line of bull, in order to protect the others involved, and lead them to believe there is no reason to pursue. Given the deaths that occurred... I just think it would be difficult to carry on in season 3 with as strong of a plotline if Cullen's "story" was 100% factual. What do …Read more >

Hell on Wheels Fans!
Attendees to the 2013 San Diego Comic Con will have the opportunity to travel the city in 19th century style aboard the steam locomotive from HELL ON WHEELS, courtesy of Entertainment One. Or, at least a San Diego Transit Trolley wrapped to evoke the earlier, pre-electric form of transportation at the center of the hit AMC-TV series. Working in conjunction with San Diego Transit, Entertainment One U.S.'s creative services department devised show-specific eye-catching full-color artwork to best re-create a little piece of the Old West in the New West.
The HELL ON WHEELS locomotive will steam its way into town for SDCC, and will be on the rails until August 4. Aside from generating buzz for the series, which is produced…

After show creators and writers Joe and Tony Gayton left, John Wirth was picked up to write for season 3. Wirth has also written for Nash Bridges, Picket Fences, and , most recently, TNT's Falling Skies. Wirth acknowledged, in an interview with the Calgary Herald, that his writing style is not that of the Gayton brothers. “Naturally there’s going to be some changes because I’m not them...Good writers have a specific voice. In my case, I’ve tried to toe the line on the tone of the show where it was working in my opinion and I’ve tried to bring some changes to it where it wasn’t. For example, I thought the show was a little earnest and a little bleak. I wanted to bring a little more levity and a little more hopefulness to the show. And, as I’ve …Read more >
I know a lot of fans were happy that Cullen and Lily finally formed a couple in the second series (personally I felt it would happen eventually from the moment of their first encounter), only to be shattered when the Swede seemingly strangled her to death. It was painful watching him carry her lifeless body around. It was the second time he lost a woman he loved.
Yet some fans I know hope she is still alive, which I admit is plausible - closing the windpipe doesn't necessarily guarantee death. So now that we know there will be a third season, I open it up - do you think she might return? Personally, I admit it is highly unlikely, but I'll keep hope that maybe she will - and be reunited with Cullen.Read more >
I started a top 10 list for best current cable drama over at the wikia entertainment hub:

Game of Thrones is leading the voting at the time of writing with my single solitary vote but any of you discerning viewers who have an opinion are more than welcome to join in. Hell on Wheels thundered back onto our screens for its second season premiere "Viva La Mexico" this week. The show is back to its familiar Sunday night slot on AMC, a little earlier in the year this time. Hopefully getting it on the air before the fall season gets going on the networks and pairing it with the excellent Breaking Bad will draw some more viewers to the sophomore Western. Certainly Breaking Bad and Hell on Wheels played well together this week with both episodes featuring tense train robbery sequences.
This episode features a lot more of the slowly growing railroad in action than we were used to from the first season, which allows for some impressive visuals. The night time robbery that provides the episode's c…Read more >
Season 2 of Hell on Wheels will premiere this Sunday August 12, 2012 on AMC. The network have released an awesome poster for the sophomore season. They have also kindly furnished us with a plethora of promotional images for the upcoming ten episode run. All of the pics are in the gallery at the foot of this post.
I am really looking forward to the return of the Western drama and am keen to find out where the characters are headed next. Will Bohannon abandon his quest for revenge after murdering the innocent Sergeant Harper? How will the formation of the new town work out for Eva? What will Elam do without his woman? What is Durant plotting now that he has his 40 miles of railroad built? How will Lily cope as an independent woman on the fronti…Read more >
Hell on Wheels just got renewed for a Season Two!
The announcement solidifies AMC’s successful track record for cultivating new, original programming, which includes critical darlings Mad Men and Breaking Bad, ratings juggernaut The Walking Dead and the American remake of the Scandinavian murder mystery The Killing. In fact, the only series AMC has launched that failed to receive an order for a second season was the super-dense conspiracy drama Rubicon. The story of Hell on Wheels hinges on Cullen Bohannan (Anson Mount), who finds work on the railroad while chasing down the Union soldiers responsible for the murder of his wife and child. Cullen’s story is one of many converging on the titular makeshift town of Hell on Wheels, populated by a…Read more >
